the dead.
Bloodcoin (BCUS) is an experimental cryptocurrency. Every week its new supply is adjusted by official US mortality data from the CDC: more deaths, fewer new coins. Fewer deaths, more.
How it works
Bloodcoin follows Bitcoin's design: 21 million coins, halvings every four years. One rule is new.
Weekly data
Every Monday, independent Chainlink nodes fetch the latest complete week of US deaths from the CDC (data at least 8 weeks old, so it is final).
Mortality factor
1 % more deaths than the week before means 10 % fewer new coins, and the other way round. The factor is capped between 0.5 and 1.5.
Stakers receive it
All new BCUS go to the staking contract and are streamed to stakers over seven days. No owner, no admin keys on the token.
